The two pump stations are located on NW 143 Street at Sigel Park and on Service Road by NW 20 Avenue in mostly single family residential neighborhood of Opa-locka. Pump Station #1 (493gpm) was under absolute moratorium by the County due to excessive average daily run time. Pump Station #2 (716gpm) was under conditional moratorium but receives sewer discharge from Station #1, and ultimately discharges into city’s master pump Station #11C through Station #4.
The project consisted of replacement of the existing pump stations No. 1 & 2 with modern submersible pumps and installation of new 8” force main along Service Road in the City. The design elements including data collection, data analysis, hydraulic modeling, design of submersible pump station, design of about 1200 linear feet of new force main, construction plans and documents preparation through construction phase services, commissioning, etc.
